ALPINE LODGE, Saint Arnaud

Alpine Lodge offers apartments, rooms, and backpacker accommodations. All rooms, excluding Alpine Backpackers, include a TV, in-house video, refrigerator, tea/coffee making facilities, and a phone. Apartments feature two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, lounge area, and a small patio. Downstairs double rooms offer a seating area, bathroom, fridge, and tea/coffee facilities. Open-plan, two-story rooms include a lounge with bathroom, fridge, and tea/coffee facilities on the lower level, with a double bedroom upstairs. Split-level rooms on upper floors have a vertical ladder to the mezzanine, bathroom, fridge, and tea/coffee facilities. Downstairs twin rooms feature a patio, bathroom, fridge, and tea/coffee facilities. Guests can be notified when their room is ready for check-in. Extra beds are not available; all guests must use existing bedding.

The Alpine Lodge kitchen is led by Chef Etienne Wessels. The restaurant offers fresh, hearty cuisine. The summer menu (November - April) includes daily breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, lunch from 12 noon to 2:00 pm (Monday - Wednesday PIZZA ONLY, Thursday - Sunday A LA CARTE), and dinner from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. A selection of dishes is available, including Alpine Cooked Breakfast, Mediterranean Cooked Breakfast, Two Eggs Any Style, Eggs And Bacon On Toast, Breakfast Bowl with hemp seeds and local honey, Alpine Lodge Porridge, and Children's Pancakes with Canadian maple syrup and bananas. Small plates include Garlic, Herb & Parmesan Flatbread, Pumpkin Soup, Roast Vegetable Bruschetta, Prosciutto Bruschetta, Seasonal Roast Vegetable Salad, House Smoked Salmon & Glass Noodle Salad, and the Alpine Lodge Platter. From May to October, breakfast is served from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, lunch from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, and light afternoon snacks are available. A freshly cooked room service menu is available for hotel guests.

Alpine Lodge is near Lake Rotoiti, which is suitable for water sports. Paddle boats and kayaks are available for hire at Kerr Bay, along with water taxi services. Rainbow and Brown trout inhabit the streams and rivers around Lake Rotoiti; local guides provide fishing expertise. The Nelson Lakes National Park offers Chamois hunting. Bird watching is also popular, with sightings of Shining Cuckoos, German owls, and Great Spotted Kiwi possible. In winter, a frozen pond near St Arnaud offers ice skating, with skate rentals available.

Alpine Lodge is located in St Arnaud, the Gateway to the Nelson Lakes' National Park, at an elevation of 640 meters. It is 85 km from Nelson and provides equal distance from Nelson and Blenheim, suitable for exploring Abel Tasman National Park. Landmarks nearby include Kerr Bay (1 km), Korimako Studio (1 km), Lake Rotoiti (0.5 km), St Arnaud Range Track (0.3 km), Brunner Peninsula Nature Walk (0.5 km), Lake Rotoiti Circuit (0.5 km), Travers-Sabine Circuit (0.5 km), Speargrass Track (4 km), and Mount Robert (4 km). St Arnaud has trails for mountain bikers of every skill level.

Alpine Lodge is family owned. The staff can store food boxes for Te Araroa Walkers for a fee, ensuring they are numbered, documented, and stored securely. Bag storage at reception is available, and guests are notified when rooms are ready. Tehj Alpine Lodge's central location is available for functions and meetings. The Alpine Lodge Loop the Lake, an annual 25 km run around Lake Rotoiti, is organized each year.
